XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX THE INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY OF DYNAMIC GAMES E-LETTER, issue No. 1, 7 January 1991 Edited by Raimo P. Hamalainen and Harri Ehtamo Systems Analysis Laboratory, Helsinki University of Technology ISDG@FINHUT.BITNET or ISDG@FINHUT.HUT.FI XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Dear Dynamic Game Theorist, ISDG-member, This is the first issue of the Society's electronic newsletter. To be included in the regular mailing list please fill in the membership application form and return it by electronic mail to ISDG@FINHUT in the BITNET. You can also resend this info to your friends. The list of those members who have sent their membership application form is shown below. PLEASE CHECK IF YOUR NAME IS MISSING AND REPLY AT YOUR EARLIEST CONVENIENCE. The basic minimum work principle in editing this e-letter is that MEMBERS send important notes and information, e.g., about symposia, conferences and workshops of dynamic games, as well as abstracts of Ph.D. theses, papers and books, which they want to be included in the newsletter. The format is described below. We hope that no retyping will be needed so please follow the instructions and sample shown below carefully. The news should be concise to keep the newsletter readable. Requests for more complete information about any news item should be directed to its contributor. We appreciate any comments and suggestions that you may have on this e-letter. Next issue is planned to be sent out in April 1991. Looking forward to receiving your membership form and news contributions. Happy New Year Raimo P. Hamalainen and Harri Ehtamo P.S. The two e-mail addresses given above are in principle identical. Depending on your network one or both of them should work. If you are in a BITNET node you only need ISDG at FINHUT. In any case the safest and easiest way is to use the reply command in your e-mail system. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Contributed by Tamer Basar October 15 ISDG THE INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY OF DYNAMIC GAMES To Prospective Members: In August 1990, a new international society has been founded, with headquarters at the Helsinki University of Technology, Finland. Adopting the name "The International Society of Dynamic Games" (in short, ISDG), its primary goals are: (i) To promote interactions among researchers interested in the theory and applications of dynamic games, (ii) To facilitate dissemination of information on current activities and results in this area, and (iii) To enhance the visibility of dynamic games research and its vast potential applications. The Society will strive to achieve these goals by organizing or co-organizing symposia, conferences and workshops on dynamic games, by producing newsletters at regular intervals and sending them electronically to members, and by possibly launching a new archival journal. The Society will consist of (as members) researchers with interests in any aspect of the theory and applications of dynamic games. It will be run by an Executive Board which will be its decision making organ. The current members of the executive board, who are also the founding members of the Society, are: Tamer Basar (President), Pierre Bernhard, Alain Haurie, Raimo P. Hamalainen, Geert Jan Olsder, Josef Shinar, Boleslaw Tolwinski, and Klaus H. Well. Any person who shows some tangible evidence of interest in "dynamic games" can become a member by applying to the Society Secretariat, which is located at the Helsinki University of Technology, Finland, and can be reached via electronic mail using the BITNET address: "ISDG@FPINHUT.BITNET". Currently there are no membership dues. To become a member, please fill out the form reproduced below, and send it (electronically) to the Society Secretariat. Those prospective members who do not have access to an electronic network, can mail a hard copy to Tamer Basar, ISDG President or Raimo P.
